These past weeks, we've been witnessing a devastating new surge of covid infections across India and Nepal -- a grim reminder of the new reality we have reached in the global pandemic.
To understand better how this new surge is impacting Tibetan communities across India and Nepal, we hosted a Machik Kora on Monday, May 17th at 8pm IST / 8.30pm NPT / 10.30am EST. This global Tibetan community forum provided an open space for Tibetan community organizers, healthcare workers and grassroots civic leaders to share and exchange ongoing experiences, responses and strategies over these past weeks in communities across India and Nepal. The Kora was moderated by Tashi Dolma, RN, an outstanding nurse and Machik advisor currently serving on the frontlines during the covid surge in Canada. Thank you to everyone who joined us from around the world to hear directly from Tibetans serving on the frontlines at this critical moment of the global pandemic. |
