At this Machik Kora, we were delighted to host a conversation on the role of art in the time of the pandemic and highlight the stupendous series titled Evolution | Tibetan Women by the artist Sonam Yeshi. Sonam was raised in a Tibetan community in India and began painting and drawing from a young age while being surrounded by traditional Tibetan craftsmen. Through this Kora, we delved deeper into the art-making process of the series and discussed ways we can be collectively emerging in today's time, with art and community standing by our sides.
Thank you to Sonam Yeshi for sharing her art with our global tribe and joining us from Dharamsala! We're also grateful to our discussants for reflecting together on the value of art and creating in today's uncertain period. We hope that Kora attendees had an informative and engaging session and we look forward to hosting and reconnecting with you at the next Kora!
