At our first Machik Kora of 2021, we were delighted to have Sam McKeever, MSPH, a specialist in public health and Machik community member, lead an engaging discussion on preparing for the viral variants of Covid-19. Sam is currently the Project Manager at the Task Force for Global Health-TEPHINET program.
A talented teacher, Sam interpreted the quickly evolving scientific data for Kora participants. With new virus strains spreading, the discussion focused on heightened ways to protect ourselves and our communities. Sam outlined how vaccine distribution varies significantly from country to country, and that most will have to wait for the uneven vaccine rollout. She emphasized the vital importance of collective awareness and responsibility as we are deeply intertwined on a global scale in this pandemic. |
