In these days of turmoil across the US and around the planet, we dedicated this Kora to learning more about the criminal justice system and discussed as a community some of the pressing issues that are facing us all. We were excited to have leading the discussion Gregory Sonam Mullens, a defense attorney in New York; Yangchen Nangpa, a public defender in Boston; and Jason Ziedenberg, a national policy expert on mass incarceration.

A few questions we explored were: How are young people in the system and their families coping? How are protesters impacted? What are the changing conditions in prisons? And how is the debate on prisons in US changing in this Covid-19 era? Thank you to our speakers and guests who brought together an informative session exploring the intersections of law, justice, community organizing, and much more.
